DPSST UNARMED Security Officer Certification Class requirements
This 12 hour course provides a complete training experience as required by DPSST to apply for the 2 year certification to provide Unarmed Private Security services in Oregon.
This course is taught by DPSST Certified Instructors with a lifetime of experience in the field of State and Federal Security, as well as Personal/Executive Protection, Defensive Tactics and Small Arms.
This course provides ALL the materials, training, workbooks, exams, forms and information needed to perform the application process.
This course is provided primarily in Central Oregon but REACT Instructors will travel anywhere that it is needed, if you have a group or agency that requires this training, simply contact REACT through our website, and we will be happy to discuss the arrangements to travel to your area.
Unarmed Certification Cost - $175 12 hrs.
DPSST ARMED Security Officer Certification Class requirements
This course is taught by DPSST Certified Instructors with a lifetime of experience in the field of State and Federal Security, as well as Personal/Executive Protection, Defensive Tactics and Small Arms.
DPSST - NRA - OFA - Certified Range Masters
This course includes all written materials, workbooks and application forms for the Armed certification.
(both Unarmed and Armed Certifications are needed to complete and work as an Armed Security Professional in Oregon)
All equipment on this list is REQUIRED to participate in the Armed Certification Course.
Quality Handgun of defensive caliber
Semi-auto or Revolver - (.38,.357, 9mm, .40,.45, etc.)
Retention style duty holster that remains open after draw and has at least a level 2 retention device.
(holster MUST have a mechanical retention device AND the Holster must remain open after draw)
- Minimum of 400 rds of training ammo
- 3 magazines for semi-auto or 4 speed loaders for revolver
- Magazine pouch for 2 magazines or 4 speed loaders
(must also have velcro or snap retention device)
- Heavy duty belt to hold holster and mag pouches
- Eyewear protection (Safety glasses Ansi approved)
- Hearing protection
- Baseball style bill cap
- Flashlight - Tactical (small, rear button) or Standard
(d cell full size) or both.
- PSID # (if already certified Unarmed) or
Drivers license for ID
Appropriate clothing for time of year, expect potential hot, cold and/or wet weather for outdoor firearms training/qualification.

A must for Armed Security Officers and Law Enforcement Officers or anyone that carries a handgun for work or for personal defense, including tactics before grab, after a grab in your holster, specific training on causing and controlling malfunctions and disarming an armed threat.
4 hrs. $150
for the purposes of transporting high value shipments or principles in a potentially hostile environment.
Level 1 Carbine and DPSST Armed certification required to attend this training.

This course focuses on live fire engagements from a vehicle and/or movement from a vehicle to cover while engaging in live fire scenarios with Carbines, Shotguns and Handguns, in single or team efforts.
You must have completed the Level 1 courses for Carbine/Shotgun to attend this training.

Carbine = Carbine Home and Personal Defense - Level 1
Shotgun = Shotgun Home and Personal Defense - Level 1

The focus in this Course is directed at more advanced Team Tactics and Movements in a wilderness environment, allowing the student to combine wilderness skills training and tactics with defensive firearms (Carbines, Shotguns and Handguns).
The goal of this class is to improve team tactics through silent communication, navigation, movement in wooded and open environments, road crossings, living and working in and out of packs, practicing and observing noise disciplines, light disciplines, information gathering/recording and mapping all with Security and safe movement with Handguns and Carbines, including live fire exercises.
