Born and raised in Oregon, Shawn spent most of his early life involved in hunting and fishing and martial arts training, teaching and competitions.
By 1985, Shawn was teaching full time to raise his family and part of his time included small arms defensive training and teaching street defensive tactics to Law Enforcement and Security personnel.
 
By the early 90s, Shawn was performing these duties full time and also had accessed further training and experience with opportunities to work in the fields of Private Contract Security, eventually including, but not limited to,  Executive and Personal Protection and Security Services with Private, State and Federal agencies.
 
With 30 years of practical experience and a personal commitment to a belief, that there is a huge difference between attending a training session that was fun, and experiencing training that was not only enjoyable, but also allows the
student to aquire new skills that will be taken with them and most importantly, repeated correctly, at any time, on their own.

Having been born and raised in Southern Oregon, Joel has spent a lifetime in the outdoors camping, fishing, hunting and trapping,
combined with his service in the military during the cold war.
Upon his return, he has continued teaching skill sets that were honed and perfected from years of hands on experience around the world, and on assignments overseas, living and teaching these skills.
 
This includes, but is not limited to, wilderness survival, emergency planning and preparedness, field medicine and weaponry skills surrounding precision rifle, carbine, shotgun and combat handgun.
 
With 33 years of experience of invested professional instruction given in firearms and wilderness skills, he gives students solid, real world training which is imparted in a positive, fun and challenging way,  while meeting the individual personal needs for each student.
 
REACT Training Systems is about a students learning.  Our goal is to teach until your skill set exceeds your expectations and is honed to where you can confidently demonstrate it successfully and repeatedly, ensuring your competency and ability to utilize those skills when needed.
